I'm Back

Sorry it's been awhile, folks....little known fact: posting these aren't easy or quick, SO NO COMPLAINING! I will turn this blog right around, mister!

A gripe about a website. Drudge Report. I used to read this site 3 or 4 times a day because of the clean, readable format, the ability to get a right leaning viewpoint on the news and the quickness with which it was updated. Over the course of the inauguration, I noticed SO MANY deliberate lies and obfuscations that I cannot pay attention to that site like I did before. The site listed that it was Obama who flubbed the oath of office when in fact Bush-appointed Chief Justice John Roberts was the one who flubbed it. No correction was made. Also, after the conglomeration of human bodies that attended you would expect trash, lots of it. Well Matt Drudge used that opportunity to point out the trash pictures then, actually solicit more pictures of trash before clean-up was finished. Nice journalistic focus, you bum.

Anyway, that's it for that.

What's on Politico?

Okay more form the year end list!
Portishead
Album: Third
Song: The Rip
Why you should buy it: Spoooky, sweet, sincere and intense. You would imagine it would leave you sad but it's honestly the most brilliant album I've heard since In Rainbows (Radiohead). Helps that Radiohead is there numbah one fan. Afterward I am including Radiohead covering the song backstage somewheres.

- Quantum of Solace was a bit disappointing.

The Decemberists
Days of Elaine
Okay so I'll start with The Decemberists. This E.P. (Means a half-album) is amazing. All the hooks are perfect. The vocals are just as inspired and storytold as we can expect from Colin Meloy. The song "Valerie Plame" is a fantasy trip with a misunderstood figure from our recent past and its ending is just ear-butter. Check it out, if you can find it.
